In February 2025, the Surveying Instruments Division successfully delivered and provided user training for the Trimble R780 GNSS Receiver to N.P. Survey Co., Ltd.. The equipment will be used for establishing control points, topographic detail surveys, and placing GCPs (Ground Control Points) for aerial mapping projects.

During the training session, the instructor introduced several of Trimble’s latest features, including:

• Trimble RTX – A satellite-based correction service that provides high-accuracy positioning without the need for an RTK base station or GNSS network. This allows the system to function effectively even in remote areas or locations without internet connectivity.

• Trimble xFill – A technology that maintains RTK-level accuracy even during temporary loss of connection with the RTK base or GNSS network. This ensures seamless operation and minimizes workflow interruptions.

The Trimble R780 is a next-generation GNSS receiver known for its rugged durability, featuring a marine-grade aluminum housing. It supports efficient data collection in challenging environments through its IMU-based tilt compensation, allowing users to capture points even when the survey pole is tilted.

The receiver was used in conjunction with the Trimble TDC6 controller – a compact, Android-based handheld device with a smartphone-like touchscreen interface, making data collection faster and more convenient.
